![]() ![]() ![]() Pink Bubbles was a big disappointment I loved the sound but only like 3 or 4 songs in it. ![]() Then in the late 90s and out of curiosity I started buying the rest of the CDs I didn't have. The Keepers were great albums that I listened to countless times, but that's where I stopped. Always felt Walls Of Jericho was great but lacked something along came Michael Kiske and all fell into place, his great vocals put them in metal royalty. I was a big Helloween fan in the late 80s, but lost interest quickly. I didn't even notice this at the time I first posted to this thread.Ĭlick to expand.Interesting read, and the thread in general. The reason to buy European import CDs is that they are manufactured to the redbook standard (Compact Disc digital audio logo) and are cheaper than the Japanese imports. I have given up on Helloween from this point forward. Gambling with the Devil was supposed to be a comeback but I don't like it. Rabbit Don't Come Easy was inconceivably bad. I did like Keepers Legacy but it was going back to the well too many times. Time of the Oath - the band's best album but the audio fidelity is terrible! The original Japanese issue does sound better than the original American issue, but it's a pig wearing pretty lipstick. The sound of this CD is nearly identical to Chameleon. Original Japanese issue sounds equal to the original American issue. Master of the Rings - A great Helloween album that pleased their fans. If you like progressive or symphonic bands, you'll like this album. The loudness wars are starting to creep in here. I can understand why most of their fans hated it. We all know about the remasters.Ĭhameleon - A great album but off the beaten path for a speed metal band. I also have the Japanese 15th anniversary re-issue which I'm betting sounds the same as the original European issue - mediocre. One of the best sounding CDs I've ever heard. The original Japanese issue sounds stunning. Pink Bubbles - mediocre with a few bright spots. Amateur production job with a mix that varies wildly from song to song. After having listened to Helloween's catalog more fully I want to refine my opinion of their material ![]()
